Hi, I am B.J. I have a inflammatory Myopathy called Polymyositis and was Dx with Dermatomyositis in 1997 through a Muscle Biopsy, Blood tests etc. only to find out that I did not have Dermatomysoitis but- Polymyositis- the difference being that Derm. is of the skin also and I finally went to the Mayo Clinic and got a proper Dx. I would love to chat with you as there is much that I can share with you. I am so sorry you have this terrible autoimmune disorder but- Please know that finding the right Dr. is the first and most important thing that you need to do. Be careful as their are some Dr.s that do not know how to properly treat this disorder and can harm you more than help you.
