All types of doctors have been using anti-depressant meds to block chronic pain for awhile now. The reason they help some is simple really. The fact is that when we are in constant or chronic pain we use up more neurotransmitters like Seritonin and L-dopamine. We have a harder time rebuilding our stores as this is done during alpha-delta sleep cycle and when we are in pain we are jolted out of restoritive sleep. Even if you don't know it. Neurotransmitters block pain receptors from reaching the brain. They are litterally what make us "feel" better or worse physically, not just emotionally. SO...Taking anti-depressant medication, the amounts will be smaller than those who have serious depression illness, may help you "feel" better all around. We live in a stereotypical world and society. We have most likely cought our selves at one time saying "oh she's on Prozac", then our one of our Doctors recommends it to us and were like "what will people think"? Get over it! Perhaps the world would be a happier place...And others would get the help they really need! Good Luck!
