About 3 years ago I had a growth on my Thyroid and they determined that it was a goiter(no sure of spelling). They did a needle biopsy. Thank God it wasn't cancer. They found out that the growth was caused by not having enough iodized salt in my system. They decided to use radio activate pill to treat because I am older and they didn't have to be concerned about anymore babies. If you are a young person, they would probably remove it surgically. The growth should not really stay there. Especially if it interferes with your thyroid. Feel free to contact me if you have any other concerns or questions.
