I used to have serious palpatations and chest pains, and I found out I had severe mitral valve stenosis. I had rhuematic fever when I was a child, and I never knew it until I was pregnant with my second child. I thought I had a cold, but I couldn't kick it for a month, so I finally went into the doctor, and they sent me home with no x-rays or anything. I went in later that day, and immediately got admitted with supposed pneumonia. After that, I lapsed into a coma, ended up being transferred to another ICU, they found out what was wrong with me, then I was medevacced from there to yet another ICU where they did a quick fix on my valve until my baby was born. He is six weeks old and doing great! I am 23 years old, and in need of a valve replacement. My question is...after the valve replacement, how long does it take for my life to get back to normal? I still get tired, I am out of breath, and even though my baby is healthy, MY health seems to be deteriorating...fast. Thank you in advance.
