Dear Robyn Do not despair - it is a disgusting condition but you can klive with it and make it easier. Sound like you have a mix of things going on with you. See a very good lacrimologist - tear specialist. I suggest that your condiiton may have lead to othe rthings like infection or inflammation of eyelids and htis can be cleared up to make ther symptoms more manageable. Try Fucithalmic antibiotic eye ointment, voltarin anti infammatory drops [ both without preservatives if available]. The treat regularly with lacrilube at night and drops in day. Try all the common ones till you find what is bets for you - celluvisc, thera tears, etc. Make your ennvironment more confortable by eliminating dry air. try steam or mist humidifyers. Avoid airconditioners. When desperate wear swimming goggles. Spend a lot of time in hot baths. Put hot compresses on eyelids a few times a day. I have lived with this for 7 years and now use drops every five minutes. It is a drag, but life can go on quite well. AT least it is not a disability that leads to blindness if you mange it properly. Good luck. beatie from Cape Town, South Africa
