I was recently diagnosed with ACM with syrinx and was wondering if anyone had any information about the surgery that is done for this. I am wondering if it helps to alleviate the symptoms permanently. I am 24 and have had head neck and back problems for the majority of my life. I have neck stiffness, severe headaches, neck and arm pain, dizziness, but I am wondering if I should wait until the problems become worse to have any type of surgery. I still have to visit the neurosurgeon and see what they say, but my outlook on doctors is negative at this point since it took four years for anyone to do an MRI. If anyone has any information that would put my mind to ease about the surgery for this please let me know. Wendy
