What do you consider a high dosage. I started out at 40 mg and am down to 8 mg. I have relief from pain but can't do anything foolish or fast. PMR is only supposed to last 2-3 years. Is your mum having regular blood tests? Need to watch that sedrate!!! The rule of thumb is 1/2 your age plus 10 - no higher or the inflammation can affect the optic nerve which can cause blindness. Don't know of anything else to do except chemotherapy.
