Hip Replacement Surgery/Dislocation

Regarding your hip replacement and dislocation following. Yes, although my 1st hip replacement lasted 12 years without problems when I did have to have it replaced the 2nd time I have had a hard time ever since. I had to have a 3rd surgery because the shaft in the thigh was moving causing pain and unsteady movement. After this the hip then began dislocating even if I was just sitting in a meeting or otherwise doing nothing strenuous. I wore a brace for 4 months but after it was removed the hip continued to dislocate. Finally I consulted a great surgeon at our University Medical Center in L.R., Ar. and he operated March 30th 2000, placing the ball of the new hip joint in a sort of cup so that it can`t slip out unless you really were to do some ridiculously strenuous activities that are off limits for a person following hip replacement surgery. Good luck to you. I fear your problem probably won`t be resolved without further sugery. If this was your first replacement then perhaps the sub-luxation brace will help you. I`ll keep you in my prayers.
