I'm having trouble figuring out if my 3 1/2 year god-daughter has encopresis. She has never been fully potty trained and she refuses to inform anyone when she has to go to the bathroom. Instead, she will soil herself and remain soiled until you smell her and take her to the bathroom. Also, I care for her doing the day. I put her on the toilet several times a day, for at least 10 minutes at a time. She will still get up from the toilet and go and soil in her pants. I'm at my wits end. Her doctor is no help and she will be 4 years old in November. What are we to do?
