If you drink a lot of coffee, stop drinking for at least a week and try orange juice or some other beverage. Coffee and tea have caffeine and too much will speed up your heart and make you nervous leading to panic attacks. Read about a lady who drank seven cups of coffee daily and had panic attacks constantly. A natural healer suggested she stop coffee for a week and the panic attacks went away. Also, try taking VALERIAN capsules available in health food stores. They are a natural calmative and is the most popular herbal remedy in Germany and Europe, it is derived from plants. It is extremely safe, no side effects. I take it when I'm under great stress and it calms me down every time. Another suggestion is to go outdoors when having panic attacks, being indoors seems to magnify your "scary" feelings. Seeing people walking by and cars, the sunshine, blue skies will calm you down and make you feel better. Some years ago, I had a panic attack and called 911 and then while waiting, took Valerian and went outdoors and sat in the driveway, watching people and cars going by with the bright morning sun, by the time the ambulance and firemen arrived, I was all relaxed and when the paramedic asked where the patient was, I answered "right here" and they were surprised to see such a calm and relaxed person.
