First of all be carefull of any surgeon. It's ther job, of course they are going to want to cut on you. I am a PTA (physical therapist asst.) and while I haven't seen much in the way of scoliosis, I have studied it in school. Physical therapy is a good way to go before making any permanent decisions like surgery. You have to first go to you family doctor and get a referral to PT. At PT they can help you with some pain relief and will probably start you on an exercise program to strengthen your trunck muscles. THe treatment will depend on weather or not your scoliosis is structural or non-structural meaning if it is permenent or not. Try PT first, it can't hurt it can only help!!
