Hi there. I had surgery for scolioses about six years ago at the age of 13. I don't know what all of the options are today. For my situation (very serious curvature prior to my growth spurt) surgery was the only option offered. I was in the hospital for 8 days, in brace for 4 months and on activity restriction for six. The results were very good and I have made a full recovery. I have friend who had surgery last year at the age of 12 and from what I understand it was much less involved. One thing my doctor encouraged me to do was sports that improve flexibility. This helps improve the effectiveness of any treatment they might suggest. YOU SHOULD CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR PRIOR TO DOING THIS SO AS NOT TO CAUSE HARM TO YOUR SITUATION!! I have the name of a good doctor here in So. California and he might have a referral for your area. Good Luck!
