Degenerative joint disease / spondylosis

I have Cervical Spondylosis and a herniated disc in my cervical area and then had whiplash back in February. At first I could hardly move, then as time went on with the help of Celebrex (arthritis drug), I got better. I am a secretary and about 11:00 a.m. I start to get shooting pains down my back and arms and it gets pretty unbearable. I have learned some stretching exercises from Physical Thereapy which do help. I have reduced the pictures and have them taped on my wall at work so whenever it gets bad, I just take a few minutes to do them. I realize that you are slightly bending forward most of the time also, but you probably cannot sit down. I'm not sure where your problem area is, but I do feel for you. The Neurologist has said that he feels that it is not severe enough (per the MRI) for surgery for me yet, but it will get worse with time. A guy here at work had similar problems and got tired of the Neurologist just stringing him along, so he went to a Neurologist that performed surgery and did his. He seems to be doing good. I did try the tanning beds this winter as we have at least 7 good months of winter, and it felt wonderful on my neck. Good luck. P.S. I am 44 and was active before and am still trying. I have Naropothy (my legs and hands go numb), a problem steming from the spine so walking vs. jogging works better now.
