Hi everyone, I am 32 years old and have had AS since I was in grade 11. They did not diagnose me with it until I was 26. This is my first time to this sight and I cannot believe how many people have the same thing as me. I guess what really shocks me is the Doctors told me that only 4% of woman get this disease and that I had inherited it from my Dad. There are alot of woman out there dealing with the same stuff I am. I am staying totally positive about this disease. My Dad was diagnosed with it when he was 25 and went through many years of pain and medication. He is now 55 and in what the doctors say remission. He has had no pain and medications for the last 2 years. So I am trying to believe that this will happen to me. For all of you woman with AS. Apparently, it is known that if you have AS, one of the times that you will be pain free is when you are pregnant. I don't know if it is true for everyone, but it definetly was for me.
