Sally
Hi Patty. I've had RSD for 4 years. It isn't easy, but I take hydrocodone 10/325 and oxycodone 5 mg. That helps the pain. I usually take the hydrocodone in the a.m. and at night. I take the oxycodone during the day, usually two tablets three times a day, at least. That helps ease the pain but does not take it away. I also take effexor in the p.m. for the depression. I do have trouble sleeping and I'm in constant pain. I wear wrist braces to help me in doing even simple tasks. I went on disability retirement 4 years ago and it helps not having work on my mind. It takes a long time for me to accomplish even simple tasks, but I do accomplish them and for that I am greatful. This nerve impairment has been a hard thing to deal with, and I try daily to cope. The less I use my hands the better I am, but I hate feeling helpless so I try to do things anyway. I succeed; it just takes me longer. God bless and I hope you will adjust to this and accept it in time. Rest your hands as much as possible and watch the weight of things you lift or carry. It does help. Keep in touch. Sally
