Eyebright is an herb. It is a flower with the Latin name of Euphrasia Officinalis. Ask for it at the local health food store or go to a site of vitamins and supplements and ask (type in) eyebright...it's about $7.00 to $10.00 per bottle of 100. I researched this herb on various sites for herbal remedies before taking it. I have been taking it now about a year and thank God every day for it...my dry eyes had me screaming 8-( --and I was not about to keep going to the Eye Doctor for prednisone...I wanted something natural that I could use to control the situation. I take three capsules per day spaced out about every 6-7 hours and if I am unfortunately in a smokey room or I have neglected my gallon of water per day, then I take another capsule. I use the "natural tears" in the day when needed and the "eye ointment" at night. I also watch what I eat...very healthy and natural...I have the "monster" under control 8-) Eyebright, according to all I have researched has no contraindications and no toxic effects. I hope this helps you...Cathy
