Hep C

A note of hope to those dealing with Hep C: I contracted both Hep B and Hep C back in 1979 through plasma transfusions during and after surgery. I made it through the Hep B, which took about five months. No one knew about Hep C at that time, so I was not diagnosed until 1994 when my physician asked if I had ever been tested. Since then, my doctors have kept close watch on the liver enzymes, and I have also taken the Hep A vaccine. I was able to see a video of my liver through laporoscopic surgery for another problem in 1994, and it was not pretty. It was mostly shriveled and scarred looking. However, my enzymes were were normal. My doctor ordered an ultrasound in 1999, which showed an enlarged and fatty liver. Now comes the good part...since that time, I have added Milk Thistle daily to my diet. I just went for another ultrasound in Jan., 2001, and it showed a normal liver! We are all amazed, and the Milk Thistle is the only possible answer. Take this info and pass it on...it may or may not help, but it certainly can't hurt! By the way, the Hep C in my blood is the hardest one to fight if it activates (1a).
