Pam
It sounds like SVT. Which is what I was diagnosed with three years ago. Generally with SVT sooner or later you can experience an epoisode of the fast heart beat. With my SVT, I get that same type of feeling, it's a strong thumb that sort of feels like it jolts your whole system. Very scary. My doctor says that an ablation more than likely would take care of this thumb feeling and cure any incidents of the rapid heart beat. I have not gotten up the nerve to take on this procedure, because I also have MVP which gives me a click of the heart and flutters that feel as though a butterfly is in there. The ablation would not cure that symptom, so I am holding out for while. As far as what I have told this is a scary health problem but benign. I hope that your doctor will find out what your situation is soon and I hope I have given you some insight or at least maybe something to ask about to your doctor. Best wishes and blessing are sent your way.
