I understand your frustration. I am 35 years old, and was weaned off of medication two years ago, but started seizing again 9 months ago, and because the frequency and duration of seizures was increasing, I had to go back on medication 3 months ago. This time, for some reason, the medication is not working as well, and I have had six seizures even after starting back on the same medication that worked before, 2 even after increasing the dosage. Every physician I have consulted has told me that the I am probably always going have this. I have read encouraging things about vagus stimulation, and have asked for a referral to consider that option, but both of the physicians I have asked have refused to make the referral because they have not exhausted the drug options yet. I'm still searching for a sympathetic physician who understands that I don't want to wait to get my life back. I sincerely hope that you will find a doc you can work with who will get you on the right track. The seizures don't just affect the one who is shaking, do they?
