My husband, his sister both had this DVT and Embolism, they did find out it is a hereditary condition (blood disorder called Protein C deficiency and protein s deficiecy). also check in your family history of strokes, thrombosis, thrombophilia. It is a hereditary condition. Now i learned that my kids both have it. My 7 year old daughter and my 2 year old son. have 3 times higher risk for a dvt, stroke etc. check for these conditions, there are also a lot of things you can do to help the situation . such as sitting down for 30min . (is not good), they recommend walking, make sure you are drinking plenty of fluids. avoid meds. that can cause clots, such as birth control pills, general anestesia, etc. etc. smoking and/or second hand smoking. rule these things in or out before you start taking anything. good luck everyone!!! my husband is 34, he is a heavy drinker, smoker, also, he is in a deep depression. i really don't know what to do with him. i have to stay strong for my kids. It is totally up to him. Anyone have some advice? sorry i made a chapter out of this!!!!!:)
