I have been diagnosed the same for many years now. I reccommend going to the library and gathering info, I did and found out how slowly cervical cancer grows, and that a very large amount of people have hpv and don't even know it. Consider the fact that your doctor caught it that you will be having paps done more often, but it is worth it. If it were to progress the often paps don't give it much time to grow. Also there are many strains of hpv, and not all of them cause cervical cancer. My last pap was bad again and my doctor wanted to do a leap procedure but it would have taken a yearto heal and at age 33 and wanting to finish my family I found out that there is a test that your doctor can do and have it sent out to see if you even have a strain of hpv that is more associated with cancer. This may put your mind at ease or confirm that you need to be careful the rest of your life. We decided to go ahead and get pregnant but still be careful with paps. Interestingly, I was on extra folic acid for trying to get pregnant and I have been having normal paps! I read in one of the books from the library that there seems to be a connection between folic acid and hpv, that it somehow helps. You might want to try this there is no harm, I took the normal daily recommendation. One other thing to keep in mind, if you do want children in the future, remember that the more procedures you have on your cervix the more scar tissue you can develop. This can interfere with your cervix dilating. I have had to be induced 2x because mine will not dilate on it's own but I have had hpv for 12 years and had multiple procedures. Hopefully you wont need as many and don't even have a bad strain. If you do maybe the folic acid will help you. Good luck.
