I was treated for almost three years for leukoplakia, being followed by an ear, nose and throat doctor who periodically took small biopsies and did laser surgery.June 00 I received a cancer diagnosis, had surgery in July and 7 weeks of radiation.Smoking is a factor, tho i am not a smoker.Mine was on my tongue and the side of my mouth near the tonsil.Your doctor should do biopsies for staging purposes;to know how far it has progressed. You'll have a better idea/prognosis after meeting with your MD and an oncologist. Good luck. I'll keep you in my prayers....it helps! i
