My 11 year old daughter was thought to have osteosarcoma last Sept. She underwent a biopsy, and didn't find any cancer but a mass of something. A culture was done, but the pathologist was unable to culture anything. The doctors still thought it was probably osteomyelitis, a bone infection. She was on a picc line for six week with little improvement. Another biopsy was performed in Dec. 2000, but to no avail. The docs. think that she had/has osteomyelitis or osteoid osteoma, a noncancerous vascular tumor. Her femur bone is curved. You can even see it when she walks. She was on crutches for five months; she got off of them in Feb 2001, but still walks with a definate limp. I asked the doc. if her curved femur was a birth defect or cause by the condition she has. He thought it was probable caused by the condition. Did you ever find out what your bowed bone called. I'd be interested in knowing.
