Acid Reflux - what to do?

NANCY HUNDLEY

Message 8 of 10 Previous Next

I have had acid reflux for a long time. My Chiropractor taught me to lay on my back, flat on the bed and take both hands and reach under the center of the breast bones with the thumbs to the top of the stomach. (where the stomach and the esphosagas meet) With both thumbs, press stomach down, then push towards your feet, holding for several seconds. Release very slowly, so stomach does not pop back up. The aim of this is to pull the contracted stomach away from the esphogas so it can funtion properly. Quite often the stomach spasms and is knotted up against the opening of the esphogas, creating a disfuntion. If you will do this several times and stay relaxed on the bed for a while, I believe you will get some relief. This has helped me over the years when no medication has. Spasms can be caused by many things such as nervousness, stress, spicy foods, tight clothing, etc. Good luck.
