I too have been diagnoised with prinzmetal angina. I am a 41 yr.old female from calif. I have been on and off various medications in past couple of years. Last Feb.after doing a treadmill test I proceeded to have a small heart attack. The angiogram showed no blocked arteries so they diagnoised me with prinzmetal angina. I have been mostly on calcium channel blockers but I do not like them. They have so many side effects from hot flushing,insomina,headaces etc. Sometimes I wonder if they are more harmful than good.(some controversy)I have been to Stanford Hospital and they diagnoised me with Syndrome X prior to my prinzmetal diagnosis, so I think they can be misdiagnosed easily. If you know of a good Dr. in Calif. let me know!
