If your motherin law caught it in time there is a fair chance of survival rate, however, it is the 4th worst types of cancer. if it is to large to be removed like my father she will have to have radiation and chemo. a very important thing to remember is they will more than likely put her on hydromorphine depending on how bad it is. Do not let them make it her only source for comfort my dad is going through withdrawl because of how much they gave him. They are telling him that in 4 to 6 weeks of radiation that if it has not shrunk and spread to other organs there is not much they can do but keep him on pain medication and let the cancer win. I am not willing to give up. But in reality the longest the maximum i am sorry but is a year and that year will not be where they will be the same as 5 yrs from now they will be lifeless depressed and unwilling to eat and take medicine. I am so sorry to have to tell you this. The best thing to do to help is find out all you can when it is just found out push the doctors to tell you every detail and most importantly get 2nd and 3rd opinions!!please write soon if you have other questions. ``
