The other night my son was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance. He woke up in the night not being able to breathe. He was beginning to turn blue. He was not coughing or making sounds. Once I called the ambulance, my husband took him out in the cold air. He seemed to get air but was still having some difficulty in his breathing. He then began to have croup like coughs. He is 2 and a half yrs old. He did not even have a cold or anything prior to him going to sleep that night. A few hours earlier in the day he was playing with a kitten for a while. Could he have had an allergic reaction to the cat setting off the croup? Please, any info would help me.
