In 25% of cases of epididymitis a cause is not determined. I'll bet that most of those cases are allergic reactions. That is what happened to me. If a cause cannot be determined you should have extensive food allergy testing and think about whether you had any dietary changes about the time the problem started. Alcohol, caffeine and spicy hot foods may be culprits also. The combination of alcohol, caffeine, spicy foods and foods that you are mildly allergic to may also be the cause. If infection and trauma can be ruled out then diet is probably the cause.
