Have known of a growing AAA since 1994, but have reached a point now when a surgeon must be consulted. Am concerned with post operative results and would appreciate knowing first hand if anyone has had this surgery and lived. The prognosis is not good since now it has grown to include the renal artery. I also have COPD which not desirable when contemplating this surgery. I have had iliopathic CHF, breast cancer, & recently a severe fall necessitated my having the right hip replaced. I survived all these this last 4 years and have returned to work. This AAA though has me concerned because the only people I know that have had it, are dead! I need some real encouragement and am looking for someone with first-hand knowledge. Thanks for helping me cope.
