I learned today that I have a herniated disk. My pain began a few weeks ago and my internist recommended and MRI and referred me to a neurosurgeon. The MRI showed the herniation. I have no pain at all now and my doctor is not going to do anything unless or until the pain returns. He said that he will probably recommend physical therapy unless the I begin to experience numbness or weakness. In that case he will recommend surgery. I wish you well.
