I have a brother who was diagnosed by the U.S. Military with ASPD many years ago. The military promply discharged him from further duty. I have come to believe there are others in my family who also have ASPD. I have spent a great deal of time researching this disorder and even with this disorder diagnosed it is difficult to find treatment. I believe most professionals shy away from ASPD treatment because it is difficult to treat. The courts nor the prison system offer any kind of treatment when the psychopath comes their way either. Which is very unfortunate for those with the ASPD and for society in general. I can no longer tolerate the destruction that ASPD has brought into my life. It becomes very difficult to deal with those who have ASPD. I will always care and love my family but I have distanced myself from them. I have found no connection between sexual abuse and the ASPD. However, that doesn't mean it isn't possible. I hope someday more is known about ASPD and that treatment is successful and widely available. I can only encourage you to continue your search for a therapist and a successful treatment program. If you find it, please let others know!
