Hi Everyone - I woke up with Bells Palsy on Jan. 16,2000. Steroids did nothing, massage (3 weeks) no change and Acupuncture w/stimulation produced no change. I was told I was 1-1000 whose condition did not improve within 3 months. On March 6 I had decompression surgery and started Physical Therapy in May. After 9 months I now have synkinesis and many other residual effects, crocodile tears, not being able to read, fatigue, functionality and inactivity is still a problem. I visited my surgeon last Friday - he had not seen me since May and he seemed disappointed in the state of my recovery given the residual effects. He told me to stop therapy and that he would see me in 6 months. I feel like my hands are tied and there is nothing left to do but wait and wonder. After 9 months, I can feel myself getting depressed. And while I have other conditions, migraines and fibromyalgia with CFS, I still maintained a strong fighter. I sure would appreciate hearing from anyone who has any of the same feelings. Thanks very much.
