Audrey, I just found out today that I have the exact same thing as you. I saw your message and it looked like it was written by me. Why? Because I've been saying the same thing, that this has effected every aspect of my life. The doctor who found this said he's in no big hurry to do any fusing. Perhaps it's because when he told me what I had, I was very afraid of surgery. I've just heard so many bad things about back surgery. He DID tell me to let the pain doctor I've been seeing, know what I have. So I don't know what will happen next, but it took 3 years and about 10 doctors before I FINALLY had this condition diagnosed TODAY!!! Guess I went to the "right" doctor this time.
