I have myopic macular degeneration in my left eye. There is no central vision. I also have cataracts in both eyes. My right eye cataract has progressed to the point where I cant see TV or drive well. I am near sighted. I have been told that if the surgery goes badly I will be legally blind. Does being near sighted make the surgery more diffult? I am slowly going blind from the cataract, should I Go for it, and take the chance of improvement even with the consequences a bad surgery would have?
