I would like to take the time to tell you a little bit about children with Aspergers syndrome.My 5year old son has aspergers or as some call it pervassive develpomental disorder and it has really changed our lives.I read that he likes to watch tv and play on the computer so what you need to try to do is find activites that involve tv or computers (talk 'n learn Alphabet center computer)has worked wonders for us.One thing you need to know up front is that they have there own routine about things and it is very hard to get them to change.One suggestion is to try to fit your time in with him according to his schedule :go various times of the day for a while to find out what you think would be the best time for you to go and work with him believe me you will see what I am talking about.My son is very organized with his belongings and doesn't like for me to arange them.His obbessions are John deere tractors and the color orange. We have to include tractors and things that are orange in everything we do or we do not get anything accomplished.Try to find out what things he is very intelluctual about and that is also a start.Children with aspergers always have things that they are very intelliangt about and that is one way of getting his attention.So I guess what I am tring to tell you is get to know as much about him as possible then base your activites around them because these children are very organized and usually don't deal well with change.Hope I have been helpful.
