after 4lumbar surgeris, including fusion at L 4-5 my neurosurgeon now says I have a stenosis at L 3-4. pain is getting much worse, especially when I lay down on my side. Goes thru the roof then. He says pain in stenosis is usually releived by laying down. Plans surgery in a few weeks, no fusion planned at this point. also plans to remove old fusion hardware to make MRI's possible in future if needed. I'm still working, (teacher) but am barely hanging on due to pain and lack of sleep. pain is getting worse almost daily. Has anyone else had more severe pain when they lay down? diaginosis made with mylogram and CT Scan. I just want to be sure this is the right plan. I'm on the verge of losing it at times due to the constant pain. on tylenol 3 now, but barely takes the edge off. Am concerned about the increased pain when I lay down since the neurosurgeon says that's the opposite of what is usual. This has been an eight year mightmare which I've managed very well up to this point.Any advice or sharing will be greatly appreciated.
