My husband has been diagnosed with viral cardiomyopathy as well. He is 34 and was in great health. We have 3 young children and are also in shock!! He was diagnosed in early Feb. and has had a stroke since....he is on the usual medications of Digoxin, Coreg, Prinivil, and Coumedin....we are told it's too early to know if he will get better, stay the same, or deteriorate..they're still working on getting his medications to the max..he has very low blood pressure and has a hard time tolerating them. So I guess we sit and wait...he does qualify for the transplant list but won't be put on until we know if the meds help...but the doctor did say there's lots of other options and transplant is the last...the meds are supposed to really help the quality of life..get a good cardiologist! We do know how you feel and what you're going through...
