If she is experiencing chronic pain, she has a severe infection. Please tell her to go to a doctor and get on antibiotics. Because I was not diagnosed when I experienced my first very painful infection, my colon became more narrow with scar tissue that builds up. I just had to have a foot of my colon removed recently because that foot of my colon was extremely narrow and I had alot of difficulty with bowel movements. Really, I urge her to go see a doctor, and I would also get a barium enema done where they can see what the extent of the diverticulitis is. Good luck!
