The company that makes these implants is C.R.Bard Inc. What you need to know is the immunologicial aspect of this collagaen implant. Althought you may never get all the facts from the company who makes the product or from your doctor. Your doctor may not know all the implications in regards to the Bard Implant and allergic complications. I have not had a Bard Collagen implant for incontintence, but many have. I see an urologist for interstitis al cystitis. He casually mentioned The Bard Implant. I am terribly allergic to collagen. I am not a candidate for the Bard Implant or any other form of collagen. Most people do not have any immunological problems but I did. After collagen lip implants I acquired fibromyalgia, inflamatory arthritis, hypothyroidism, an elevated blood sugar level, vasculitis. Collagen can be very bad for abaout 5 per thousand. I have been sick now for over four years. Ihave not been able to get any satisfaction from the people that make collagen. In fact in 1992 there was a five year investigation with The Collagen Corporation, The Texax Dept. of Health and the FDA. You can locate the facts involving collagen if you like.
