Since migraine headache is diagnosed almost entirely from the patient's history, i.e., what he says, it would be difficult to make a definitive diagnosis. One test you might try would be to test for photophobia, i.e., extreme light sensitivity, by shining a light in his eyes and observing if it causes much discomfort.
