I am sorry to hear about your father. I have lyme disease also for about 10 years now. I had a severe allergic reaction to Rocephin so I could not use it at all. I used Primaxin which I was okay with for about 4 weeks and then I developed hives. I was able to continue using it with Benadryl taken 1/2 hour before infusion. Then when that no longer worked, I used Clafarin which I was able to use for about 2 months before I had a reaction to it. While on these IV meds, it is important to stay out of the sun. You burn very easily. Good luck and God bless you and your father. It is nice to see a child concerned for her father.
