I am 66 years old and have had PMR for almost two years. I started with a pulmonary effusion (fluid in the lungs) My doctor put me on 40 mg of prednisone to start, then decreased the dosage. When he tried to take me off the prednisone my sedrate went to 100. I am currently on 7 mg/day. Had been weaning down one mg per month. However, last month at 6 mg the pain and tiredness returned, my sedrate jumped to 40 from 20, so I am back to 7 mg. 6 mg must be the magic number.
