I aquired tinnitus about 6 months ago, and it was also caused by exposure to loud music. It has been absolutely horrible, although I've been doing things to help, since ear specialists really couldn't offer me any help. At first, I could not sleep at night so I purchased a soothing sound maker, includes rain sounds, a brook sound, etc. etc.- combined with the sound of a fan--It has helped me sleep at night. Also, I try not drink caffein or eat a lot of sugar--that also helps. I haven't really found any supplements that work, but never-the-less, they cannot be ruled out. It is a debilitating thing to have, and at first I thought, "There's no way I can deal with this!" (Mine is very loud). But I have adjusted to some extent. Hopefully, someone right now is doing studies and making advancements toward finding a cure! Unfortunately, it still seems to be that problem "you just have to deal with" I've been told that in my case, the tiny hairs in the inner ear have been destroyed, and once they're destroyed, they're destroyed, and you have a nice case of tinnitus on your hands. Well, that's not good enough for me! If anyone feels the same, please respond.
