I am trying to get proper information on my color blindness problems. I want to obtain employment in railroading and also other fields that require color vision aptitude for the job. I need to find out why my color vision is going to hell. I have not been able to pass tests for years;however, in independent tests, I can correctly identify colors 95% of the time! I am 38 years old. My color vision and general vision have been deteriorating since age 11 (5th grade). I have a better left eye than right eye (20/80 vs 20/400 or something like that). I have been to two holistic doctors. One, who has since left town, said that my adrenal gland is screwing up, and he suggested some health store supplements. Another doctor, his successor, said that it is probably a vitamin deficiency and to take various vitamins. I have noted some improvement as I have changed my diet (e.g. eating a salad per day, emphazing juices et al.) I have had side effects from using vitamins (nausea, frequent urination, et al)which could also be interactions with other vitamins as people have suggested. Further, the eye doctors I have visited suggested literally nothing useful and a "learn to live with it attitude" which I found offensive, of course! My goals are to (1) restore perfect color vision and (2) restore perfect general vision and eliminate my contact lense useage (I rarely wear glasses). All ideas will be very sincerely and gratefully appreciated!!! Regards, Tim Vana
