PMS in the early 40's?

Could it be peri menopause? It is still possible. you did not mention if your doctor checked you estrogen level. are you on a low estrogen pill? A low estrogen pill can cause symptoms such as you described. Even if you've been on them for years your body's own lowering of production with age could increase these sypmtoms. I would start by having your hormone levels checked and go from there. I don't believe that PMS is something you wold suddenly develp in your 40's. But your's could be chemically induced. also Losts of doctors now prescribe a low does of SSRI to help boost seretonin levels since they drop, somtimes drastically, when on the pill. Also the Pill can rapidily deplete your body of B-6 and B-12. Are you taking a supplement of B vitamins? You should and I am always surprised when someone tells me thier doctor did not mention this. Hope your feeling better soon! Kimb
