Hi Audrey, I'm very sorry your baby has Psoriasis, it is a BIG nuisance, and very embarrassing. But, you need to count your blessings. It is better to have Psoriasis than cancer! I got Psoriasis at Age 50; it lay dormant in my body for 50 years. I've had it for about 5 years, and it has its ups and downs. The very first thing you should do is the contact the "National Psoriasis Foundation." They have a web site, just put their name into a www-search. There is a place in the web site where you can request information OR become a member. Reading their NPA Newsletter helped me a lot when I first got it. Psoriasis in children is NOT that unusual. We are BORN with the disease. We inherit it from our grandparents. In my case, I inherited it from my great-grandmother. Although a woman on the Internet suggested that we don't inherit diseases from our ancestors - we inherit their IMMUNE SYSTEMS. Psoriasis is an auto-immune disease. And, it gets better or worse with the weather. I'm in New England, and it's worse in the winter and better in the summer. Contact the National Psoriasis Foundation ASAP. (Sometimes a special diet helps - and Vitamin E helps a lot)
