I am sorry to hear about your condition. I am 35 years old and have had two spinal fusions of my neck. I have Degenerative joint disease in my neck and occipital joint. I also have taken every pain medication there is. Oxycontin has helped me in the past, but it is a very strong drug and can be hard on your body. My last surgery was in 2/2000 they put a metal plate in my lower part of my neck. this did not help my scull pain. I am taking vicodin at this time. The problem is that your body builds up a tolerance to all these pain meds. I have tried a pain patch(fentanyl)spelling? I could not do it because it made me violently sick to my stomach. You might want to try Vioxx which is a arthritis drug but does help pain. I have been living with daily pain since 1997. If there is anything I can do to help let me know. You're in my thoughts.
