Sorry to hear about all your health problems. I am basically in the same boat as you. I too have fibro and have had it since 96'. However I do not have diabetes. I also have interstitial cystitis and thyroid disease. These are all considered autoimmune diseases. Because of the burning, tingling and numbness in my extremities my neurologist insisted I get an MRI of the brain. And interesting enough I have, what the doctor called "bright spots". I don't know if leisons and "bright spots" are the same but I would made a bet that they are. My doctor did not think I have MS because of my age, 55, but in the radiological report that I received stated that I may have MS. I understand the only way possible to detect whether it is indeed MS, would be to do a spinal tap. I don't intend to have that done unless my symptoms worsen. I take Xanax at night to help me sleep and occasionally Melatonin from the health food store. I also started on Elevil, an antidepressant. I have only been on this drug for less than two weeks so I am not posisitive that it helps. But I can say that in the last two weeks I am sleeping better, and do not feel as fatigues. Aand oddly enough my pain thus far has lessened by atleast 25%. You may want to go to the Mayo Clinic or John Hopkins. I am entering the Shands Hospital on Friday in hopes that the doctors there can decide exactly what I have and what medications are best for my conditions. I have not gotten much satisfaction from my doctors here in Orlando Florida. I wish you good health and good luck. J.W.
