I suffered from a terrible pain in my right side for about 2 years before I was diagnosed with what an emergency room doctor told me was an ulser. I started to take Prilosac which would stop the pain for a couple of weeks but after those few weeks the pain would come back. Finally the pain got so bad I had to go to the emeergency room in another city and after doing x-rays and an ultrasound the doctors determined that I did not have an ulcer but I had gallstones. By the time they figured this out, my gallbladder was so infected that they had to perform emergency surgery to remove my gallbladder. It will be a year in October since I had my surgery and I have not experienced any pain since. So look into the surgery. I had Laproscopic surgery which is what I would recommand you look into. I know exactly what you are going through and I do not regret having the surgery at all, in fact I wish I would have had it sooner.
