Lyme Disease

Margie

Message 7 of 8 Previous Next

I was diagnosed with Lyme in 1991. I was on IV antibiotics for 21 days. I still felt lousy for several months afterward and was left with a "migratory arthralgia" which I still have today. It comes and goes and has affected my arms fro the shoulders to fingertips and legs from my hips to toes. I don't want to scare you, just pay close attention and learn as much as you can. Three things I might suggest; 1) KEEP A MEDICAL JOURNAL!!! I didn't thinking that I would remember not realizing that this would drag on and you DO forget many things. 2)It's my personal opinion that a course of physical and or occupational therapy should follow treatment.3) Stay away from the Lyme Vaccine. Shortly after my initial recovery, I volunteered to become a part of the trials for the new vaccine. Now after years of shots and boosters, It's virtually impossible to determine it my continued and seemingly increasing "Arthralgia" is from the original Lyme, the vaccine and or subsequent booster, or not related at all! GOOD LUCK!!!
